Tired of paying extreme subscription costs for football broadcasting?
Techno-Vision can provide a number of excellent, cheaper football broadcasting options.
Why?
As Sky cannot prosecute any pubs for showing football channels as long as they are from a EU country.
Now because of this we expect a boom in pubs changing from Sky to foreign satellite and because of this companies who have never been in competition with us for over the last five years have decided to jump on the bandwagon.
The problem with these rougue companies jumping on the bandwagon is that is that they are inexperienced and offer products that are totally illegal and you will get into big trouble if you are found to be using one of these systems.
Cardshare is entirely illegal. It is piracy - what happens is, a company will tell you that they are installing a system where you get say Greek Nova or most commonly multiple cards.
They then connect the box to the internet and, what happens is, on a normal decoder every 6 seconds your box asks your viewing card 'Am I allowed to watch this channel?', to which your viewing card says 'Yes' , and you watch football smoothly, no problem.
Now a cardshare receiver has no card instead every 6 seconds the receiver sends a signal down your internet connection and hits a card in say, France or Birmingham, depending on where the server is. The receiver then receives a signal back saying 'Yes, you can watch this channel', but if the server has a lot of people trying to watch one channel it cannot get the signal back in time, causing your box to freeze and display the message 'scrambled channel' on screen: I know pubs that have missed the whole second half of a game due to this.
The risks
Servers are getting raided off the police on a regular basis and shut down where the computers are taken away, examined, and the IP addresses are logged so the police then look at who owns the IP address they will find that it is your pub, then they prosecute you.
Making money out of illegal Cardshare is what pubs will be doing if they use one, which is a far worse crime than piping your Sky down from upstairs - its piracy.
Also you need to consider the fact that last year we got lots of service calls from pubs who had systems fitted and they could no longer get in touch of the supplier if they had any problems.
Remember this is a 2 year deal so if all goes well and the EU court stamps there approval for the use of these systems the only thing you will get into trouble for is having a domestic contract I am sure Viasat will employ a media company to sort that out...
We hope this helps you in your decision on what to do about football for next season and would like to hear from you soon. Our business has been supplying football systems in pubs and clubs for the last 5 years maintaining and installing to a very high standard.
